What is fireproofing?
In firefighting, there are two types of protection: active protection, which consists of extinguishing fires, and passive protection, which aims to limit damage. Fireproofing is part of passive protection: it involves treating materials to make them fire-resistant, thus slowing the spread of flames and smoke, and the deterioration of structures. This allows for anticipating risks and reducing damage in the event of a fire.
