What is Eurotextil Flame Retardant Fabric and why is it essential for public establishments/hotels, restaurants, and cafes?

Eurotextil is a colorless, non-toxic liquid fabric flame retardant, specially designed to make your textiles difficult to ignite and achieve the M1 fire rating. The use of a fabric flame retardant is a strict regulatory requirement for all textiles used in Public Access Buildings (ERP) or in the Hotel and Restaurant (CHR) sector, such as stage curtains, hotel drapes, or museum hangings. Its major advantage is its certified compatibility with a wide range of fibers, including cotton, linen, polyester, and polypropylene.

The M1 treatment guarantees the safety and compliance of your installations.

How is the M1 dosage calculated for textiles, and what surface area does one sprayer cover?
    1. It is essential to refer to the scale below to determine the number of fire-retardant sprayers to use.
    2. Identify the fabric to be fireproofed according to its weight.
    3. Refer to the number of points for its category.
    4. Multiply this number of points by the number of square metres.
    5. The total must be divided by 100 (1 sprayer = 100 points). This will give you the exact number of sprayers to use.
    6. Make sure the fabric to be treated against fire is clean and dry.
    7. Spray the fire-retardant product directly onto the fabric, on both the reverse side and the front side.
    8. Only stop once the fabric is saturated, that is, just before dripping. Leave to dry for at least 12 hours.

1 sprayer = 100 points

M1 according to standard NF P92-512. Test report no. P208356 – DEC/6.

What is the optimal application method for Eurotextil to ensure M1 certification?

The sprayer is ready to use. The application must aim for complete and even impregnation:

  • Preparation: The fabric must be clean, dry, and must never be mixed with water.
  • Spraying: Apply the fabric flame retardant to both the front and back of the textile.
  • Saturation: Continue spraying until complete saturation, i.e., just before the product begins to drip.
  • Drying: Allow to dry for a minimum of 12 hours.

Proper saturation treatment is the only way to guarantee that the safety commission will approve the test report.

Does Eurotextil Fabric Flame Retardant alter the color and what precautions should be taken when using it?

The product is colorless and designed for minimal fabric alteration. However, it is essential to perform a preliminary test on a small, hidden area before full treatment, especially due to the required saturation. As a precaution, the product should never be mixed with water and must be applied in a well-ventilated area. The M1 fire protection is permanent, provided the fabric is not washed or dry-cleaned.
