Why is textile flame retardancy a delicate process and does it require prior testing?
Textile flame retardant treatment is a process that saturates fibers (natural or synthetic) with a flame-retardant agent to achieve an M1 fire rating. However, this liquid impregnation treatment can alter the fabric’s feel or create halos on delicate fabrics such as silk or velvet. This 100ml sample is therefore your best tool for technically verifying that your fabric can withstand the treatment without visual alteration before ordering your Textile Flame Retardant.
Does the sample include the M1 certification for the fabrics?
No. This product is a diagnostic tool, not a certification. It contains no official certificate or traceability labels. To fireproof your curtains, drapes, or blinds in accordance with public access building regulations, you must purchase the Eurotextil sprayer or the 5L container.
What defects should be looked for during the fabric test?
On a scrap of fabric, saturate a small area. After 12 hours, check three points: the absence of halos (drying stains), the stability of the colors (no bleeding) and the suppleness of the fabric (no excessive stiffness).
