Fireproofing of artificial green walls
We recently had the opportunity to intervene at the Résidence Albert du Bosquiel, an EHPAD (nursing home) located in Bondues (59 – North), to treat 25 m² of artificial plant walls.
Our mission was to fireproof 25 m² of artificial plant walls to meet the M1 fire safety standard, following a request from the local fire safety commission. At first, the facility considered replacing the entire installation, but our solution turned out to be faster and more cost-effective.
A full-service approach to simplify logistics
One of the challenges of this project was transporting the artificial plant walls. To make things easier for the client, we handled the removal directly on-site. This meant the care home didn’t have to manage any part of the logistics.
Fireproofing process steps
Preparation and setup in our workshop
Once collected, the artificial plant walls were laid flat on a protective sheet in our workshop. This setup allowed us to apply the fireproofing treatment evenly across the entire surface.
Spray application of the fireproofing treatment
We used our Euroflor product, known for its efficiency and full M1 certification. This treatment offers :
- Durable M1-rated fire protection.
- Preservation of the plant walls’ original color and texture.
- Even coverage through spray application.
After spraying, we allowed a 48-hour drying time to ensure the product was fully absorbed.
Delivery and reinstallation
Once the treatment was completed, we carefully repackaged the panels on a pallet and delivered them directly back to the care home for reinstallation.
A fast and efficient project
The entire project was completed in just four working days. This included the collection and preparation of the walls, the fireproofing application, a 48-hour drying period, and the delivery with final reinstallation on-site.
Thanks to this smooth process, the care home quickly benefited from fire-safe decorative walls compliant with French M1 standards.
